Since 2003, Ellen has been sharing her environmental education skills in many different settings all across the U.S. From leading canoe expeditions through the wetlands in Florida, being a fishing instructor in California, and in East Texas working for a residential outdoor education center taking fifth graders on learning adventures through the piney forests.
Ellen grew up in Houston, Texas, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Management with an emphasis in Fisheries from Texas Tech University.
As environmental educator, Ellen is responsible for working with students of all ages and teaching them in the setting of Shangri La’s Nature Center. The programs led by her will take students through cypress/tupelo swamps, digging through grasslands, and exploring upland forests. She will also work with Shangri La volunteers in order to do everything possible to make the experience of visitors unforgettable.
