Come to Shangri La this week to explore the forest and meadow trails, tromp along the swamps and float down the bayou, all in search of the animals that call it home! As a Hero in training, campers will explore the splendor of Shangri La’s wildlife. As campers hike the various habitats at Shangri La they will work towards earning their hero cape and become the heroes that nature needs. Wear your costume!

Parents: This is a story-based camp that will engage children’s imaginations while we expand their science literacy. We will learn the basics of ecology and how our actions can have a positive impact on our local environments. We will spend time in our gardens and in the natural areas, and we will take short hikes and enjoy several excursions on Adams Bayou. As in all of our camps, participants will spend 50-70% of the time outdoors doing hands-on science activities and approximately 30% of the time will be spent indoors working on complementary science and craft activities. Costumes are welcome.
