The Exhibit Hall features the story of Shangri La from past to present with interviews and accounts of the gardens from the 1940-1950’s. An interactive houseboat includes a live feed of Ruby Lake. Fish and other aquatic life found at Shangri La are showcased in The Critter Motel.
Adjacent to the Exhibit Hall, the Meditation Pavilion features the quote “Drink in the beauty and wonder at the meaning of what you see” by Rachel Carson.  Carson wrote the book Silent Spring which was instrumental in launching the modern environmental movement and, more specifically, brought a stop to the use of toxic chemicals, in particular DDT, that were harming wildlife.
The soothing, bubbling fountain in the center of the Meditation Pavilion is made of petrified wood collected by H.J. Lutcher Stark and was found in Newton County.
