Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center provides a continuing environmental education for students throughout Orange County and the surrounding regions.  Students have various opportunities throughout their education experience to visit Shangri La as it sponsors programs located in both the Botanical Gardens and Nature Center.  The programs may involve traveling aboard the Nature Center boats to experience the wonders of the natural world, walking to the bird blind, planting in the children’s garden, or visiting any of the three Nature Center Outposts.  Other facilities explored during and education experience may include a Water Demonstration Garden, laboratory, bat house, or the Nature Discovery Center. Schools have three main options:  a Naturalist-Guided School Program, an Explorer Program (self-guided), and an Outreach Program where a Shangri La naturalist comes to visit the classroom for presentations. All programs are free of charge during the school year, but require a reservation.  For all schools located in Orange County, Shangri La will pay for busing when you come for your scheduled program.  If you are interested in one of these programs, please visit each of these pages to read more.  When you have selected the program you are interested in, please fill out the online application (coming soon) or contact our office for more information.
