The Stark Museum of Art is pleased to announce its inaugural juried K-12 student art exhibit, The Legacy Lives On. The exhibit will be a companion to our special exhibition, Drawn to Life: Audubon’s Legacy, opening March 28, 2015 and on view through July 25, 2015.

This exhibit of student artwork will be juried by Staff at the Stark Museum of Art, and will include up to 100 works of art created by K-12 artists in Region 5, Texas and Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. Artwork should depict at least one animal or bird of North America in its natural habitat.

Stark Museum of Art Educators are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for classroom visits through February 13, 2015 to introduce students to John James Audubon and the Museum’s collection of his work, to review the exhibit guidelines, and to provide students a special opportunity to help select a work of art to be included in the Drawn to Life: Audubon’s Legacy exhibition.

Artwork must be delivered to the Stark Museum of Art by Friday, February 27, 2015. Artists will be notified of their selection by March 13, 2015. Artwork not selected for the exhibit must be picked up by April 3, 2015. Exhibited artwork must be picked up from the Museum no later than August 25, 2015. For questions or information, please contact Jennifer Restauri at 409.886.2787 ext. 3017 or at jrestauri@starkmuseum.org.
