Explore the Stark Museum of Art’s collection of Southwestern American Indian objects and artwork with Dr. Ray Miles. During this informal lecture, participants will discover how the voices of western literature authors such as N. Scott Momaday and Mary Hunter Austin can convey images, culture, dialog, and feelings that can guide the looking experience and bring new insights to the collection.

Dr. Ray Miles is a professor and Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at McNeese State University, Lake Charles, LA, and his research, writing, and teaching focus on the American Indian and American West.

As part of the Gallery Conversations series, this conversation is included with general admission. Members free.
